Masculine Slanted Gift Box-Free SVG

After I cutout the first version of the FREE Slanted Gift Box SVG Design, it kind of looked like a tool box.  I thought…I bet I could all a handle on the top and it would look like it.  Sure enough.  This is why I made this version and I wanted an excuse to use this Tim Holtz Idea-ology license plate paper.

I added the panels before I assembled the box.

I used my piercing tool to poke holds for my twine.  I tied a not inside on each end to hold it. This twine is more rigid. I love it and have a few rolls of it from Ikea. I never saw it again, but it was a holiday item. I also added a large Fastenater staple to the front of the lid opening.  If you have been around awhile, the Fastenator was a thick scrapbooking staple with stapler manufactured by EK Success. It has been discontinued. I still have a lot in my craft supplies though.

That was it!  It will make a great gift box for one of the guys in my life. I hope you enjoy the free file!

Tool Caddy For Dad

Tool Caddy For Dad

When I designed this Tool Caddy SVG File, I was thinking of Father’s Day. I thought about those simple wooden tool boxes you often see in garages or at garage sales!   I thought it would be a simple but fun box for gifts. So, I made this one for my Dad. I sized it down a bit to make it a smaller box.

The original file comes with the box, panels and a blank label to add your own sentiment.

For this version, I used a Wood texture pattern paper I had in my stash for the panels. I inked the edges with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink. I also embossed the panels with the Sizzix Texture Fades Notebook embossing folder.

Once assembled, I added the “Dad’s Goodies” to the blank word label.

Then added the goodies!

The Tool Caddy is really an easy box to make and you could use it for any occasion. I even saw that somebody used it to store scrapbooking supplies!

Father’s Day Blog Hop – DIY Father’s Day Gift Ideas

Father’s Day Blog Hop – DIY Father’s Day Gift Ideas

Hello and welcome to our 3-day Father’s Day Blog Hop.  I am excited, as this is our first ever blog hop at Simply Crafty SVGS!  At each hop, inspiration from our Design Team is sure to provide some Father’s Day inspiration or perhaps just some ideas for future projects!

Since this is the first stop in the Blog Hop, let’s get started with a Father’s Day 3D Side by Side UTV box.

The Side by Side UTV SVG comes with square flags, but I wanted something different for this box. So, I created 2 triangular flags you often see on 4WD toys.  This is easy to create within any software with basic shapes. I used triangles to make the flags with a union command from the software I was using, eCal 2. I used the Print2Cut feature to add the text.  I cut and painted 2 skewers (like you get in the dollar store) black to wrap the flags around.

I also created the Happy Father’s Day label using Print2Cut in eCal 2, which is similar to the Print and Cut features in other software, like Cricut Design Space and Silhouette Studio. Then a melted perler bead, compliments my crafty sister, to the middle of the steering wheel, for the horn. A few black rhinestones form the middle of the tires.

I wanted to break up the color in the back, so I added a strip of black and white striped washi tape.  I used white glitter cardstock for the front headlights and metallic red cardstock for the back lights.

As you can see, the back open up for a place to add a gift card or some Father’s Day goodies!

So excited.  I was asked to be a guest designer over at Simply Crafty SVGs and also on facebook at Simply Crafty SVGs.  What a great honor.  I love the files that this site has and the owner Sandy is a fabulous designer.  Her design team is top notch.  Their examples with Simply Crafty SVGs 3D files are beautiful.  Please go on over and say hello and look around.

So for my project I wanted to make something for Bobs birthday which is in a couple of weeks.  Bob is a machinist.  We own a machine shop and he is in high demand.  So the file I chose is a 3D Tool Box.  It looks just like the 4 that we have in the shop.  This one is able to be filled with what ever you want.  It has a top section and a lower section.  I used standard cardstock and my ATG gun.  I think I will go to a candy store and look around.  Might be able to put some saltwater taffy in the bottom.  So here is how my Simply Crafty SVGs 3D Tool Box Turned out.
